It was time to cast our nets wider and ferry it across to Vancouver Island for a 3 hour cruise (a-la-Gilligan)? Really Mr X? Thanks for cutting it short by 90 minutes!

And so began our time on the Island.

Very windy on board so don’t look at our hair.

The magnificent Butchart Gardens lived up to their reputation. Finely manicured, exquisitely presented and lovingly cared for, Ms X put many many floral arrangement requests on her list.

Of course Ms X and Ms N couldn’t resist all that the gardens had to offer (even the all inclusive carousel!)

Now if you are a frequent visitor to this blog, you would know that our retirees love a walking/food/history tour. Our guide, Andy took us to places in downtown Victoria which took in the flavours of Hawaii, Italy, Phillipines, Indonesia and Japan. Yep, you guessed it; Vancouver is very similar to multicultural Melbourne.

Our food tour.

The group ventured to the Malahat Skywalk where the path led to the magnificent views of Vancouver Island at the top. The activity net was also found at the summit as well as an alternative way down: the slide!

To complete a perfect time on Vancouver Island, we were joined by Mr K and Ms M from Greenvale at the historic Empress Hotel. What a wonderful visit it was.
