Up bright and early for our private tour to the Cu Chi tunnels, about 1 and 1/2 hrs away. Our tour guide, ‘Jason Bourne’ was fabulous. There wasn’t a topic or subject that he couldn’t elaborate on and he also knew so much of the world.
Jason’s driver got us there and back without any bingles, just not sure how he did it. It was again a ‘white knuckle’ experience or dodgem cars but only faster, faster. To quote Jason, “Vietnam’s got Talent”
The history of the Cu Chi area was amazing to hear about. The booby traps and the tunnels themselves had to be seen to be believed.
Sigiriya, Diamond Head, Cinqu Terra and now the tunnels.there is no stopping this marine.
When ascending, Jason Bourne referred to Ms X as

Wow. We both were pretty shook up by the stories we read here and the fact that all this occurred in our lifetime. Well done Gough for abolishing national service. Stopped at the Ben Thanh Market and of course you know what called our name after that!




Angela Merkel! I asked ze Germans here on board and they said no correlation. But you are a marine, I didn't think you would go in the tunnels!
I'll say it.. no idea who Angela Merkel is but I doubt she has anything on my mother. Not surprised Mum went down the tunnels – more suprised that Dad's height managed to fit inside?!
