Dubrovnik was a reunion destination. Mr and Ms X flew in early afternoon from Prague whilst Ms C and Mr P were scheduled for an evening arrival.( delayed flight meant a review of the schedule however😏)
Ms X and Mr X got a head start and scaled the old town walls themselves. Lotsa steps and I mean lotsa steps! Beautiful, picture-postcard sights however made it all worthwhile and we loved the Croatian organisation …. one-way traffic unlike some other cities recently visited.
There should be a law against selfies during a one-way walk!
The town brought back memories of Santorini with its cliff-top bars and panoramic views. The old town, surrounded by the city walls was a great place to wander and imagine life in another time.
Mr X just happens to be a Game of Thrones (GOT) fan so one could do their own GOT tour, with or without a guide. The rest of our touring party indulged him, although none of us wanted to recreate the walk of shame performed by Cersei Lannister from GOT, down the steps (she did that stark naked apparently)
We let Mr X have that honour on his own.
Now they have a hill in Dubrovnik from where you can get the best views of the place along with expensive drinks. Both worth it though. They also have a cable car that takes you up and down. Dandy said Ms X as she had had enough of Dubrovnik- steps.
Dubrovnik is a great place to visit for a couple of days but please be warned, summer would be scary as the crowd was just tolerable in May.
