Arrival into Cape Town was via a domestic flight from Johannesburg. The flight was pretty much non-eventful, except for our retirees innocently eavesdropping on a fellow tour member, Mr B, in deep conversation with the attractive woman beside him. To put it simply, you needed to be there to understand.
A tour of the city gave us an overview, however the trip up to the summit of Table Mountain brought mixed reviews. Despite having our fingers crossed, putting it simply again, our travellers suffered the same fate as we did at Mt Fuji several trips ago. All the planets have to align to be able to actually see these divas and on this particular day, the fog made it very difficult.

Cape Town provided these tourists with a fantastic day in its wine region. Don’t ask Mr X if he enjoyed his day, a day in which there wasn’t a beer in sight.

A full day travelling the west coast was had and what spectacular scenery was delivered. Good enough to beat the Great Ocean Road easily. From amazing beaches to mountain ranges and beautiful towns that hugged the coastline, this area delivered in spades.

And of course the wildlife to see were the African Penguins who were out in force, not like their Aussie counterparts that appear only at dusk.

Part of the tour group left at the end of the visit to Cape Town. As expected, (and requested by some), they were farewelled in style!
