There seemed be be a lot left out of the first post which is too important for these retirees to forget.

Upon receiving a very special birthday gift from Ms M and Mr K (who featured in the Alaska posts), our travellers were treated to a night at GOLD restaurant. With drumming lessons, dancing, face painting, singing and 14 courses, this will remain as a special Cape Town highlight.

Happy 70th! Thanks Mr K and Ms M.

Bo-Kaap, a neighbourhood in Cape Town is the historic, center of the Cape Malay community, with a strong, Muslim heritage. Our travellers found brightly coloured houses and a festive area full of energy.

They call it George Clooney as it’s made out of coffee pods.

Cape Town did have its share of animals but they were just not as famous as their other South African counterparts.

Always ready to be photographed.

The previous post showed beaches and upmarket areas that still show a social divide. Although the boundaries are not racially applied these days, the boundaries do exist quite dramatically due to social capital.

Humble dwellings and barbed wire everywhere.

Some random photos to end on:

Mr K did manage to see a cricket ground.
